Perfect: the pleasure of enjoying the real Siri
The iPhone 4S launched earlier this month and with it introduced new hardware and a ton of new features thanks to iOS 5. One of the features that no doubt stole the show was Siri, a personal assistant for your iPhone 4S that allowed to the use of voice commands for accomplishing whatever tasks you could imagine with your iPhone 4S. Mashable dubbed it, “perfect”.
No wonder: Siri was a sex toy before becoming an iPhone 4S app
Well there is now a funny ad floating around the blogosphere which shows another side to Siri, that sultry yet robotic voice assistant for your iPhone 4S. Here’s the backstory, a year earlier (2010) Lelo released a pleasure object with the very same name, the Lelo Siri. Coincidentally, it was dubbed it “perfect” too and it apparently continues to be a favorite product at the site.
Needless to say, the good souls at Lelo are flattered and cajoled:
Congratulations on the new iPhone 4S! “Siri,” that’s a catchy name. We’re pleased to see you like it too.
Not only are we proud to witness how inspired you were by our most powerful intimate massager, but referencing us with the tagline, “Picking up where amazing left off”? Now that is a true honor. Normally we would object to companies that create luxurious high-tech electronic gadgets sharing our names, but being called ‘amazing’ by one of the most successful companies in the world… Well, you’ve stroked our ego enough to let it pass.
We’d also like to commend you on having the gusto to extend the notion of the “personal assistant” into the land of technological innovation. While LELO’s Siri caters to one’s most personal and intimate needs, Apple’s Siri picks up the slack with flight information and calorie counts. Thanks to the “Siris”, pretty soon the very idea of a human assistant will be deemed obsolete and millions of Literature majors will be out of a job.
We can see it now: Siri will become a term that defines the best of both worlds – Apple representing business and LELO representing pleasure. If it’s ok with you though, we’ll leave the autocorrect typos up to you guys while we continue to offer grand finales day after night after day.
We wish you the best and hope we can continue to inspire in all of your future endeavors.
Thanks again for the nod in our direction, Apple.
